Help! Seeking long cotton strand info!

Hi. …I need to find a source for long cotton strands (if possible). I use them for doll eyelashes and I have been taking them from cotton balls, but the strands arent long enough for hair. My doll scale is small, and cotton strands are very fine. I need them to be at least 3 inches in length. Or if anyone can recommend an alternative material(fabric based or synthetic–but I would like to be able to dye it) it would be greatly appreciated. If you can help, please e-mail me directly. Try visiting a good yarn shop that carries Alpaca yarn. Good luck. Suzy
